SWB Interns headed home

I just wanted to take a second on the blog to recognize and thank Zoey Bouchelle and Kay Adami for completing a 7 month stint as Soccer Without Borders' first ever long-term interns. Zoey and Kay graduated from Penn State at the end of 2008, and chose to give up their first full year of the "real world" to fundraise, spread the word, and prepare for their trip to Granada. From September 09 until now, they have worked around the clock to ensure that SWB Nicaragua and the girls and coaches of Futbol Sin Fronteras received the attention, consistency, and voice that they deserve. Through their efforts, FSF has grown roots in Granada that are grounded in trust, understanding, and mutual care, and with those roots we are sure that this program can (and has hopefully already) to make a difference in the community. In addition, their patience and feedback has allowed SWB to launch a more formal intern program that will ensure we have a year-round intern presence at our three major international sites: Solola, Guatemala, Ndejje, Uganda, and Granada, Nicaragua.
