Running across the back wall of the office right now is a huge street full of Germs in protest. In keeping with the health theme this month, the little girls (pequenas) have been learning about different kinds of germs this week, and enjoying a picture book call "Germines, germines, germines (Germs, germs, germs), wherein the germs stage a protest against hand washing, eating healthy, and general hygiene. Last night at arts and crafts night the pequenas had the chance to stage their own protest, drawing germs holding tiny signs made of popsicle sticks and neon paper. If you couldn't have guessed, Germ Street was the brainchild of Melisa, who imagined a wall full of marching, screaming germs as all of the pequenas now know the many ways to prevent getting sick.
Keeping with the theme, next week's activities will kick off with a special event where the girls rotate through health related stations...from tooth brushing to cereal necklace-making to healthy snacks to vegetable stamps, it promises to be an exciting start to the week!
