Wait for it...

This morning we arrived at the beach soccer field just a little bit later than yesterday morning, on account of a long night of celebratory salsa and bachata dancing (celebratory because I just became an Aunt!). Apparently, the whole town must've had the same laissez-faire idea because at 8:59am, one minute before the game was scheduled to begin there was not only no opposing team, there was no field. The goals were nowhere to be found, there were no lines, no tournament director, ref...nothing that would imply that a tournament could possibly be taking place.

Slowly but surely, people and equipment started to roll in. By 10:00 we had secured our tournament championship after beating the only other team in the women's division for the second day in a row. We will play them again tomorrow in the "finals" but they told us the trophy is already ours. I hope the trophy has a little plastic soccer player on top!
